Why electrolysis

A permanent answer

Electrolysis is recognised as capable of permanently removing successfully treated hairs. It works by treating the follicle directly, so hair that's successfully treated will not grow back. That makes it different from waxing, threading or laser, all of which manage hair rather than end it.

Electrolysis often isn't the first method people try. Many come to it after exploring other options first.

Because hair grows in cycles, a single session won't treat every hair in an area straight away. Most people complete a course of sessions over time, with each successfully treated hair gone for good.

Each follicle is treated individually: one strand at a time.

For your skin and hair

Made for you. Not despite you.

Because electrolysis treats the follicle directly rather than targeting pigment, it can be used across all skin tones and all hair colours, including dark skin tones, and red, blonde, grey and white hair, which other methods such as laser often struggle to treat effectively.

The treatment reaches the follicle itself, so hair colour and skin tone do not determine whether it can work.

Why EveryStrand

Permanent results. No assumptions about why you're here.

I'm Magdalena, a specialist electrolysis practitioner with first-hand experience of the gap between how electrolysis can be done and how it's often actually delivered. I run EveryStrand, and every treatment begins with a free consultation and patch test, because understanding your skin, hair and goals comes before anything else.

Sessions are time-based and transparently priced, with no hidden costs and no pressure to commit beyond what's right for you. Treatment is planned around you, not a fixed session count. And the space itself is private, one-to-one, and judgement-free, whatever brought you here.

Comfort & process

What to expect

Many clients describe the sensation as a brief warmth or mild sting, and often find it more manageable than they expected. Where suitable, options such as topical numbing cream or starting with smaller areas can make treatment feel more manageable. Every consultation includes a patch test, so you know what to expect before committing to a course.

You have the right to pause at any point, just say so.

Questions, answered

Electrolysis can feel like a big decision. Here's what people most often want to know before booking.

Is electrolysis really permanent?

Yes. Electrolysis treats each follicle individually: the cells responsible for hair growth are permanently disabled. Once a follicle has been successfully treated, that hair will not grow back.

Does electrolysis work on all skin tones and hair colours?

Yes. Because electrolysis treats the follicle directly rather than targeting pigment, it works across all skin tones and all hair colours, including blonde, red, grey and white hair that laser often cannot treat effectively.

Does electrolysis hurt?

Most clients feel a brief warmth, sting, or pinch, and often find it more manageable than they expected. Some areas are more sensitive than others, and we always work within your tolerance and adapt the pace where needed.

How many sessions will I need?

Honestly, it varies: the area, hair density, texture, colour, your hormonal picture, previous hair removal methods, and how consistently you attend all affect the total. Your free consultation is where we look at the actual area and give you a more useful plan than a generic estimate.

What is the free consultation?

A free 30-minute appointment that includes a patch test and a conversation about your hair, skin, goals, and any relevant medical history. It is where we work out what treatment looks like for you. It is not a sales appointment.

How much does electrolysis cost?

Until 30 November 2026, founding client rates apply to anyone who books and begins their first session: sessions from £29 and Strand journeys (prepaid treatment time) from £170. From 1 December 2026, sessions start from £35 and journeys from £220. Full pricing is shown clearly before you book.
